The next program in the Rockport Public Library’s “Let’s Feel Better in 2026” series will be held Wednesday, March 4, at 1 p.m. Nancy Albertson, certified Plant-Based Coach with Food Revolution Network, will give an interactive presentation for those who are curious about how and why to incorporate more plant-based foods into their diet.

Join Georges River Land Trust (GRLT) and Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) for an animal tracking walk at Weskeag Headlands Preserve in South Thomaston on Saturday, March 14, at 9:30 a.m.

Kirk Gentalen, naturalist and Regional Stewardship for MCHT, will provide tips for identifying animal tracks, and give insight into what animals are busy doing in the woods this time of year.

NORTH HAVEN – North Haven Community School has opened admissions for the 2026-27 Offshore Program cohort. Students entering grades 9-12 are invited to apply to join students at Maine’s smallest K-12 public school for a balance of rigorous academics, community connection, and interest-driven projects, set against the backdrop of North Haven’s vibrant working waterfront, according to a news release from school.

Maine Water employees once again came together to support local communities by collecting and donating more than 140 winter coats this season. 

Maine Water’s Coats for Kids program is an employee-funded program to purchase brand new coats for families in need this winter. This year, employees’ contributions purchased 146 new winter coats, according to Maine Water, in a news release.

Local BSA Troop 200 will host its annual pizza fundraiser Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 4 - 8 p.m., at American Flatbread in Rockport.

"Enjoy delicious hot pizza and support your local Scout Troop serving the greater Five Towns area," said Ingrid Tepelmann, BSA Troop 200 committee volunteer, in a news release. "Plus a Silent Auction with great items to bid on from our local businesses."

A portion of pizza sales and all of the Silent Auction funds raised will go towards local Scout programming.
