SOUTH THOMASTON — Join Georges River Land Trust for a morning on the trails of Weskeag Headlands Preserve constructing homes for fairies out of natural materials. This event will take place Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. 

"Weskeag Headlands Preserve in South Thomaston is a known favorite spot for local fairies," said GRLT, in a news release. "Georges River Land Trust invites you to help craft whimsical woodland homes for our fantastical friends. We'll gather materials along the trail and then scout spots for constructing our creations. At the end, we'll tour our new neighborhood.

The fairy houses will only be made using items that participants gather from the forest floor and shoreline.

"Please do not bring items from home," said GRLT. "The fairies are very particular about their dwellings."

This event is free and open to all ages, children, teenagers, and adults are all welcome. Register at georgesriver.org/events.

Directions: From the Keag Store in South Thomaston, take Route 73 west and turn right on Westbrook Street. Go 0.5 mile and turn right onto Hopkins Drive where you will find a small parking lot.
