Dr. Roger Rittmaster will lead an outdoor presentation on Identifying Backyard Insects at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, September 22 at 12:00 pm.   Click this link for Dr. Rittmaster's handout. 

Rittmaster is a retired endocrinologist with a lifelong interest in nature photography. Since moving to Camden 15 years ago, he has focused on “bringing nature home” to his backyard and has photographed over 1000 species of insects there. In this two-part presentation, Roger will first give a 45-minute slide talk on how to identify insects and other bugs in your yard and then lead the group on a walk to identify insects in Merryspring’s gardens.

This in-person talk is part of the Summer Talk Series generously sponsored by Camden Riverhouse Hotel. Attendance is free for members; $10 for non-members. Merryspring is your community nature center offering walking trails, cultivated gardens, wildlife, and ecology and horticulture educational programs all year round. The park is located at the end of Conway Road, just off of Route 1 in Camden behind Hannaford Shopping Plaza.
