The First Universalist Church in Rockland and the Midcoast Unitarian Universalist Fellowship are offering sexuality education for children in grades K-1 at two locations over eight Tuesdays, starting October 6, from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. There is a required parent and child orientation on Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.  

Our Whole Lives (OWL) Sexuality Education is an affirming, accurate, and developmentally appropriate sexuality education program offering levels for Kindergarten through adult that has been offered around the country for 25 years. The K-1 curriculum includes: the wonders of our bodies; bodies and gender; body boundaries; families; how babies begin; and pregnancy and birth. Activities and stories are developmentally appropriate for this age level, according to a First Universalist Church in Rockland news release.  

The First Universalist Church in Rockland has been offering OWL for grades K-1, 4-5, and 8-9 for the past 20 years to families throughout the midcoast area. And now Midcoast Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will offer K-1 in Damariscotta. A team of trained volunteer facilitators lead the sessions, according to the news release.
