Raymond Augustus Young, obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and Papa, Raymond Augustus Young, who left us on August 24, 2026, at the age of 81, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
He was so much more than a father and grandfather—he was a best friend, a source of laughter, comfort, and unconditional love. His presence made everyone feel cared for, and he was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
With a sense of humor that could bring laughter even on the most difficult days, he found joy in his sweets and in talking about his years driving a truck and working in the seafood business. He treasured staying connected to the people who mattered most, checking in, making sure they were okay, and asking what they were up to. His calls became a familiar and cherished part of everyday life.
He also cherished the friendships he made at Breakwater Commons and adored the staff who cared for him so generously. He was grateful for the kindness, companionship, and support they shared with him.
He was the voice on the other end of the phone, the person who was always there, and the one who never let anyone forget how much they were loved. Whenever someone told him, “I love you,” he would always reply, “Love you more.”
Before ending a call, he often said, “Give your babies a kiss, and take one for yourself”—a simple expression of the tenderness and love that came so naturally to him.
His absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. Still, his laughter, words, love, and the countless memories he created will remain with everyone who knew him. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but also for the love he gave so freely.
He was deeply loved, will be deeply missed, and will remain forever in our hearts.
Memories and condolences may be shared with his family on his tribute wall at ripostafh.com.
