THOMASTON — Two individuals were taken into custody as a result of a drug-related search warrant at a residence on Fish Street in Thomaston, Thursday morning, Sept. 17.

At approximately 7 a.m., the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Rockland Police Department and Thomaston Police Department, executed an operational warrant, which followed a coordinated investigation and extensive information sharing between the participating law enforcement agencies, according to Sheriff Patrick Polky, in a news release.

During the entry and search, deputies and officers seized approximately 145 grams of suspected Cocaine and Cocaine Base, along with various pieces of drug paraphernalia including approximately $6,500 in cash. 

Following the investigation at the scene, two individuals were taken into custody and face the following charges:

● Kegan Collins, 47, of Thomaston, Maine — Charged with Aggravated Class A Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs.

● Malcom Raheim Longmire, 39, of New York and Waldoboro, Maine — Charged with Aggravated Class A Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs.

"As is often the case, this investigation involved the importing of illicit drugs from out-of-state and selling by utilizing local residences as sales locations," said Sheriff Polky. "However, it is vital to remember that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The charges listed at this stage are strictly accusations, and the seized materials are pending official laboratory analysis." 

Sheriff Polky added, "This operation highlights the power of community and police collaboration. When citizens speak up and report suspicious activities, law enforcement can aggressively investigate and stop this behavior to keep our neighborhoods safe."
