UPDATE (Sept. 21): Two individuals who were arrested on Sept. 17 as a result of a multi-agency drug-related search, on a warrant executed by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at a residence on Fish Street in Thomaston, both remain at the Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset as of Sept. 21.

Kegan Collins, 47, of Thomaston, was charged with Class A aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and Malcom Raheim Longmire, 39, of New York and Waldoboro, was charged with Class A aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs.

Both made their initial court appearances on the drug charges Friday afternoon, Sept. 18, before Judge Sarah Gilbert in Knox County Court.

Bail was set at $5,000 for Collins and $15,000 for Longmire.  

According to the court affidavit filed by the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Longmire had come to Maine from New York. He was staying at a residence in Waldoboro and was going to the Thomaston house where the drug search occurred for the past two weeks.

They are scheduled to appear in court again on Oct. 29 for dispositional conferences.

THOMASTON — Two individuals were taken into custody as a result of a drug-related search warrant at a residence on Fish Street in Thomaston, Thursday morning, Sept. 17.

At approximately 7 a.m., the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Rockland Police Department and Thomaston Police Department, executed an operational warrant, which followed a coordinated investigation and extensive information sharing between the participating law enforcement agencies, according to Sheriff Patrick Polky, in a news release.

During the entry and search, deputies and officers seized approximately 145 grams of suspected Cocaine and Cocaine Base, along with various pieces of drug paraphernalia including approximately $6,500 in cash. 

Following the investigation at the scene, two individuals were taken into custody and face the following charges:

● Kegan Collins, 47, of Thomaston, Maine — Charged with Aggravated Class A Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs.

● Malcom Raheim Longmire, 39, of New York and Waldoboro, Maine — Charged with Aggravated Class A Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs.

"As is often the case, this investigation involved the importing of illicit drugs from out-of-state and selling by utilizing local residences as sales locations," said Sheriff Polky. "However, it is vital to remember that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The charges listed at this stage are strictly accusations, and the seized materials are pending official laboratory analysis." 

Sheriff Polky added, "This operation highlights the power of community and police collaboration. When citizens speak up and report suspicious activities, law enforcement can aggressively investigate and stop this behavior to keep our neighborhoods safe."
