Robert Charles Thibodeau, obituary
WARREN — Robert “Bob” Charles Thibodeau, 75 of Warren, Maine, passed away on September 22, 2026 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Bob was born on November 9, 1949, in Rumford, Maine, the son of Albert Wilfred Thibodeau and Emma Caroline (Mooney) Thibodeau. He grew up in Rumford and following high school, joined the United States Navy in 1969. He served aboard the USS Patterson, later became a member of the Naval Reserve, and was awarded he National Defense Service Medal.
Bob had a long career in law enforcement. He began his career as a deputy with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and later worked at the Maine State Prison in Thomaston, where he retired. Following retirement, he continued working with the Knox County Jail and Northeast Transport.
Bob loved hunting and fishing and spent much of his life enjoying the outdoors. He had a special love for his Wirehaired Pointing Griffon hunting dogs and the many years he spent hunting with them. Bob was also a competitive clay target shooter who earned state and club championship titles in skeet and side-by-side shooting at Varney’s Clay Sports in Richmond.
One of Bob’s favorite places was the family camp in Lambert Lake, Maine, where he especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, Pam, and making many lasting memories together.
Bob was a proud lifetime member of Union Lodge No. 31, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, in Union, Maine.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert Wilfred Thibodeau and Emma Caroline (Mooney) Thibodeau, and his granddaughter Emma Thibodeau.
Bob is survived by his wife, Pamela Jean Abbott Thibodeau of Warren; his children, Tammy Pacenza and her husband Michael, of Newburgh, New York, Robert Thibodeau II and wife Judith, of Old Orchard Beach, and Shannon Marie Crute of Rockland.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Gavin Pacenza, Alexi Gallipeau, Joseph Gamage, Jacob Thibodeau, Shawn Crute, Trevor Crute, Calob Crute, Maxim Crute.
He is also survived by his siblings, Patsy Rinaldo and her husband Rick, of North Carolina, John Alfonse Thibodeau and his wife Deirdre, of Rockland, and Susan Ames and her husband Bruce, of Kenduskeag.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Bob’s life on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 11 a.m., at the Union Masonic Hall #31, 149 Sennebec Road, Union.
