THOMASTON — The Town of Thomaston will host its second annual New Resident Night on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Lura Libby Room at the Thomaston Municipal Building, 13 Valley Street. While the event is designed to help newer residents get to know their community, all Thomaston residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

 

New Resident Night will be held in an informal, open-house format, giving residents an opportunity to meet municipal leaders and staff, ask questions, and learn more about the services, programs, and resources available in town, according to the Town, in a news release. Attendees can also learn more about Thomaston’s Town Meeting form of government and ways to become involved in the community.

 

Representatives from town departments and community partners will be available throughout the evening to share information and answer questions. Members of the Thomaston Select Board will also be on hand to meet residents and discuss local government and community issues.

 

Refreshments will be served, and attendees will have the opportunity to win gift cards to local businesses.

 

“New Resident Night is really about helping people feel connected to the community they call home,” said Kendray Rodriguez, the Town's Community & Economic Development Coordinator. “Whether someone moved to Thomaston last month or has lived here for many years, this is an opportunity to learn something new, meet the people who help keep our town running, and find new ways to get involved.”

 

The event is free and no registration is required. Residents are welcome to stop by anytime between 5 and 7 p.m.
