Islesboro PD investigating early morning attempt to steal ATM

Islesboro Police insignia.ISLESBORO — Islesboro Police are investigating the attempted theft of an ATM from the Islesboro Community Center, according to a Sept. 4, press release from Islesboro Police.
The attempted theft occurred at approximately 3 a.m., when someone tried to remove the ATM from inside the center. It is unknown whether the individual was working alone, or had help, according to the release.
“The Islesboro Police Department, in coordination with the Maine State Police, is actively investigating this incident. This remains an ongoing investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.”
