'Randy Fein Ceramics: Lobsters, Mermaids and More' exhibit at Salt Pond Studio
Event Date
Saturday, September 05, 2026 - 03:00 pm to 07:00 pmFRIENDSHIP — From September 3 through September 20, 2026, Salt Pond Studio will feature a collection of Lincolnville artist Randy Fein’s recent clay work, inspired by her imaginative interpretations of life below the waterline. Spotlighting the exhibition will be a series of large ceramic vessels with carved and painted lobsters.
“For this show I found my inspiration in the ancient Minoan pottery created in Crete circa 2000 BCE”, said Fein, in a news release. “Minoan pottery is highly decorated with whimsical images of marine life so important to this ancient island culture. I have lived on the coast of Maine for some 50 years and still connect with the ocean daily. My pottery and clay sculpture is profoundly influenced by the diversity of marine life and the mysterious world below the waterline. 'Lobsters, Mermaids and More' features my interpretation of Maine sea creatures created in clay.”
The public is invited to the opening reception to meet the artist and view this collection of new work on Saturday, Sept. 5, from 3 - 7 p.m. Enjoy a complimentary barbecue and drinks.
Salt Pond Studio is located at 522 Cushing Road in Friendship Maine.
