Camden Public Library hosts three different events this month, including a native plant sale and celebration, a psychology-related book talk, and an evening of poetry and prose.

 

The Library provides the following descriptions:

Title: Camden Native Plant Sale & Celebration

Date: Sun, 09/20/26, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

There will be shopping from local native plant nurseries, educational booths with various organizations; conversations with native plant growers and garden experts; two speakers; artist Cassie Sano painting plein air during the celebration; music; kid’s activities; food, treats, and more! This is a great opportunity to learn more about and incorporate native plants into your own garden and yard.

 

 

Title: The Solutionary Way with Zoe Weil, in Conversation with Andrew Revkin 

Date: Tue, 09/22/26. 6:30 PM –7:30 PM 

 

Description: Visit the Camden Public Library Picker Room to attend a discussion between Zoe Weil and Andrew Revkin about the concepts and ideas from Zoe’s latest book: The Solutionary Way: Transform Your Life, Your Community, and the World for the Better. This event will take place on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30 PM.

Title: ‘But There Is No Light: Tuberculosis in Poetry & Prose’ with Laura Bonazzoli & Carolyn Locke 

Date: Tu, 09/29/26, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM 

 

Description: Camden Public Library will welcome writers Laura Bonazzoli and Carolyn Locke for a presentation about the portrayal of tuberculosis in poetry and prose on Tuesday, September 29 at 6:30 PM in the Picker Room. Refreshments will be provided.  

There will also be opportunties for Q&A, as well as book signings for Bonazzoli’s recent novel, Our Share of Morning, as well as Locke’s latest book of poetry, Between: Ray and Eva, 1938-29. RSVP is requested and is available on the event listing on the Camden Public Library website calendar.

 

Writers Caroyln Locke and Laura Bonazzoli will share the experiences and cultural history of tuberculosis through the lens of writing. They will share a brief overview of the history of TB as an incurable pandemic as well as about the sanatorium movement. The audience will learn about famous writers who died of TB (John Keats, the Brontë sisters, and many more), and explore some famous examples of TB in poetry and fiction. 

 

Carolyn Locke and Laura Bonazzoli will then share how and why they each came to write their own literary works featuring tuberculosis. Carolyn will read from her new book of poetry, Between: Ray and Eva, 1938-39 and Laura Bonazzoli will read from her recently released novel, Our Share of Morning.
