"Mr. Drew and His Animals Too will delight both children and adults when Drew Desjardins brings a group of exotic animals to visit the Cushing Community School on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m.," said a Cushing Public Library news release.

This collaborative community event, co-sponsored by Cushing and Thomaston public libraries, is free and open to the public.

Mr. Drew is an educational outreach presenter who rescues and rehabilitates exotic reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates from around the world. He takes in animals that the humane societies will not, to help prevent the release of exotic species into the Maine ecosystem, according to the news release.

Mr. Drew has been working with exotic animals for more than 35 years and currently cares for more than 300 animals. His 60-75 minute “edutainment” programs offer a hands-on, fast paced, and fun-filled approach to learning about animals, responsible pet ownership, and environmental stewardship. 

The school is located at 54 Cross Road in Cushing.
