Midcoast Habitat for Humanity will host an Affordable Homeownership Information Session on Wednesday, September 23 at 5:00 p.m. at its offices at 680 Commercial Street in Rockport.

The session is designed for individuals and families interested in learning more about Midcoast Habitat’s affordable homeownership program, including the application and selection process, eligibility requirements, and current and upcoming homeownership opportunities in Knox County.

Midcoast Habitat partners with local individuals and families to create a pathway to safe, stable and permanently affordable homeownership. Habitat homeowners purchase their homes with an affordable mortgage and work alongside volunteers while completing homeowner education and 250 partnership hours.

Applicants must demonstrate a need for affordable housing, have the ability to pay an affordable mortgage and meet applicable HUD income guidelines, and have lived or worked in Knox County for at least one year.

The information session is an opportunity to ask questions, learn how the program works and better understand the steps involved in becoming a Habitat homeowner.
