Medomak 8th softball tops Searsport in finale

SEARSPORT — The Medomak eighth grade softball team traveled Wednesday, June 2 to Searsport where they collected a dominating 19-1 victory to end the season with a record of 7-1. 

At the plate for Medomak were Kytana Williamson (four walks, triple, two RBI), Audrey Jackson (three walks, single, home run, two RBI), Abby Young (two walks), Skylar Hills (triple, single, walk, two RBI), Lilly Christ (single, hit by pitch), Michaela Lewis (walk), Jaiden Seavey (hit by a pitch, single, RBI), Maddy Wilshire (two walks, hit by pitch) and Erica Waite (two walks). 

E. Colby (double) was the lone offensive player reported for Searsport. A first name was not available. 

Pitching for Medomak were Williamson (three innings, eight strikeouts, walk) and Jackson (two innings, three strikeouts, hit) 

Pitching for Searsport were M. Lang (11 walks, three hit by pitches, three strikeouts, six hits) and B. Bagley (two inning, two walks, five strikeouts, hit). 

In the first inning, Williamson and Young stole their way around the diamond to give Medomak an early 2-0 lead. Harvey, Lewis, Wilshire, Waite and Williamson each stole home plate to push the early lead to 8-0. 

In the second inning, Medomak plated one more run when Hills tripled and then stole home. 

In the third inning, Williamson stole her way around the bases after her third walk of the game. Hills then singled to drive in Jackson and Young, both on base via walks. Christ singled in the next at-bat to drive Hills home. Williamson tripled and added two more runs to the scoreboard before stealing home on a passed pall to put Medomak up 16-0. 

Hills, in the fourth inning, walked and then stole her way around the bases to put Medomak up 17-0. 

In the fifth inning, Williamson was driven home, after walking, when Jackson smashed an inside-the-park home run to put Medomak up 19-0. In the bottom half of the inning, Searsport plated its lone run courtesy of Medomak errors.
