Medomak 7th softball swings past Great Salt Bay
WALDOBORO — The seventh grade softball teams for Medomak and Great Salt Bay squared off Tuesday, May 17 in Waldoboro for a Busline League contest.
It was a thriller of a contest filled with a plethora of runs with the host Riverhawks earning a 15-10 victory.
Medomak plated one run in the first inning, five in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth, four in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Great Salt Bay tallied one run in the second, one in the third, four in the fifth and four in the seventh.
At the plate for Medomak: Grace Townsend (single, triple, grand slam homerun, five RBI), Jennika Schumann (RBI), Rachel Barbour (single, double, RBI), Grace Havener (RBI), Arie Kennard (walk, single), Ariel Castner (two singles), Ivy McCollett (two walks, RBI), Corrie Simmons (walk) and Lilly Hills (walk).
Offensively for Great Salt Bay: Pinkham (two walks), Brewer (single), Thompson (single, three walks), Olivia Ball (two walks), Starbird (single), Waltz (three walks), Carr (walk), Ponsant (two walks), Robbins (hit by pitch). Most first names were not available.
Nicholls pitched for Medomak, earning 13 strikeouts, allowing 15 walks and hitting one batter.
Pitching for Great Salt Bay was Ball who recorded seven strikeouts and seven walks.
