Medomak 8th softball tops Medomak 7th for Busline crown
WALDOBORO — The Medomak seventh and eighth grade middle school softball teams squared off Tuesday, June 7 in Waldoboro for the Busline League championship.
The all-Riverhawk affair concluded with the eighth grade squad pulling out an 11-5 victory over their younger counterparts.
Medomak 7th plated two runs in the first inning, one in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the seventh. Medomak 8th, meanwhile, tallied one run in the first, two in the third, one in the fourth, one in the fifth, four in the sixth and three in the seventh.
At the plate for Medomak 8th were Peyton Eaton (walk), Kendall Simmons (single, double, triple, walk), Arianna Sproul (triple), Claudia Feeley (single, double, walk), Haylee Chandler (three singles), Cassidy Prock (two singles, double), Alyssa Smith (single), Ainsley Frothingham (walk) and Chloe Fox (triple, two walks).
At the plate for Medomak 7th were Grace Townsend (hit by pitch, walk), Sidney Nicholls (two singles), Rachel Barbour (two singles, hit by pitch), Grace Havener (two walks), Arie Kennnard (walk), Aleah Shay (double) and Ariel Castner (single, double).
Feeley pitched a complete game for Medomak 8th, recording two hit batters, four walks and 14 strikeouts. Nicholls pitched a complete game for Medomak 7th and earned nine strikeouts while allowing three walks.
