Medomak 8th softball, baseball tops Oceanside

WALDOBORO — The eighth grade middle school baseball and softball squads from Medomak and Oceanside squared off Thursday, May 12 in Waldoboro for Busline League contests. 

Softball: Medomak 16, Oceanside 4

At the plate for Medomak were Peyton Eaton (three singles, walk), Kendall Simmons (single, two triples, walk), Arianna Sproul (single, two doubles), Claudia Feeley (three singles, walk), Haylee Chandler (two singles, walk), Cassidy Prock (double), Alyssa Smith (three singles, walk), Ainsley Frothingham (single, walk) and Chloe Fox (four singles). 

In the pitcher’s circle for Medomak were Simmons (two innings, four strikeouts, two walks, five hits) and Feeley (three innings, five strikeouts, two walks, two hit-by-pitches, four hits). 

Stats for Oceanside were not available. 

Baseball: Medomak 13, Oceanside 1

Medomak plated one run in the first inning, two in the second, six in the third, one in the fourth and three in the fifth. 

Dyan scored the lone run for Oceanside in the second inning. 

At the plate for Medomak were Josh Blake (two doubles, single), Owen Dostie (single), Wyatt Simmons (two runs), Tucker Brown (run), Josh Stone (run), Aidyn Herring (two singles, two runs), Ashton Francis (double), Konner Scofield (run), Dima Cheesman (two runs), Austin Wilshire (single, run), L.J. Hollub (run), Gage Austin (two singles, run), Griffin Holgerson (run). 

From the pitcher’s mound, Blake fired a complete game no-hitter for the host Riverhawks recording 11 strikeouts and four walks. 

Pitching for Oceanside were Jackson K. (two strikeouts, five walks, nine hits) and Levi (four walks, hit).
