divisional championships set for Saturday

MIDCOAST — The Busline League playoffs continued in full swing Thursday, June 2 with games around the Midcoast. 

Below are scores and stats for playoff contests submitted to the Penobscot Bay Pilot sports department. 

8th Grade Softball: Medomak 7, Camden-Rockport 2

In a home semifinal contest, Medomak bested Camden-Rockport in Waldoboro. 

Medomak plated two runs in the first inning, two in the third and three in the third. Camden-Rockport, meanwhile, plated two runs in the sixth inning. 

Claudia Feeley pitched a full seven innings and recorded 11 strikeouts, four walks, and hit four batters.

At the plate for Medomak were Peyton Eaton (single), Kendall Simmons (double, walk), Arianna Sproul (double, triple, walk), Claudia Feeley (double, walk), Haylee Chandler (two singles, infield home run) and Chloe Fox (single, double).

Stats were not available for Camden-Rockport. 

With the win, Medomak advances to the divisional championship to be played Saturday, June 4 at 10 a.m. at Medomak Middle School against Troy Howard. 

8th Grade Baseball: Troy Howard 10, Medomak 9

The host Troy Howard Lions earned a berth in the Busline League championship game with a thrilling walk-off victory over Medomak in Belfast. 

Medomak recorded three runs in the first inning, two in the fourth, one in the sixth and three in the seventh. Troy Howard, meanwhile, scored two in the third inning, five in the sixth and three in the seventh. 

Pitching for Medomak were Josh Blake (five innings, eight strikeouts, three walks, three hits), Wyatt Simmons (strikeout, two walks, two hits) and Aidyn Herring (two strikeouts, two walks, two hits). 

At the plate for Medomak were Josh Blake (three singles, four runs), Owen Dostie (run), Wyatt Simmons (run), Tucker Brown (single), Jayden Drost (run) and Konner Scofield (two runs). 

Stats for Troy Howard were not available. 

With the win, Troy Howard advances to the divisional championship to be played Saturday, June 4.

7th Grade Softball: Medomak 13, Nobleboro 1 (in 5 innings)

In a semifinal contest in Waldoboro, the host Riverhawks mercy-ruled Nobleboro to advance to the divisional championship that is slated for Saturday, June 4.

Working the pitcher’s circle for Medomak was Sidney Nicholls, who fanned 11 batters, walked two batters and allowed two hits. 

Pitching for Nobleboro was Mackenzie, who struck out four batters, walked eight and allowed eight hits. A last name was not available. 

At the plate for Medomak were Grace Townsend (three singles, double), Nicholls (single, walk), Rachel Barbour (single, walk), Arie Kennard (walk), Lilly Hills (single), Jennika Schumann (double, walk), Ivy McCollett (two walks), Molly Emerson (walk), Paige Gerlack (single), Alyse Court (walk), Aleah Shay (walk) and Ariel Castner (walk). 

At the plate for Nobleboro were Neptune (single), Kammie (walk) and Mackenzie (single, walk). Last names were not available. 

The divisional championship will be held at 11 a.m. at Medomak Valley High School against Great Salt Bay. 

7th Grade Baseball: Medomak 16, Camden-Rockport 0 (in 5 innings) 

In Waldoboro, the host Riverhawks mercy-ruled the visiting Schooners in five innings. 

Medomak plated six runs in the first inning, two in the second and eight in the third. 

At the plate for Medomak were Nolan Wellman (single, two runs), Jacoby Severson (three runs), Lanny Morrison (single, two runs), Liam Feeley (ground rule double, three runs), Keith Miller (ground rule double, run), Wyatt Hood (run), Nick Bowman (run), Liam Ruffner (run), Zac Curtis (run) and Jacoby Miller (single, double, run). 

Offensively for Camden-Rockport were Dom (single) and Jack (single). Last names were unavailable. 

With the win, Medomak advances to the divisional championship to be played Saturday, June 4 at Medomak Middle School against Oceanside at 11 a.m.
