Medomak 7th softball tops Wiscasset, Great Salt Bay

WALDOBORO — The Medomak seventh grade softball team earned itself two victories this week, one against Wiscasset and one against Great Salt Bay.

On the road Thursday in Damariscotta, the Riverhawks earned a 9-7 victory over the hosts.  

At the plate for Medomak were Sidney Nicholls (single), Jennika Schumann (triple, single, RBI), Grace Townsend (two walks), Arie Kennard (walk), Rachel Barbour (two singles, walk), Grace Havener (walk), Molly Emerson (walk), Aleah Shay (two walks), Alyse Court (two walks), Paige Gerlack (single), Corrie Simmons (two walks) and Ariel Castner (walk, hit by a pitch). 

At the plate for Great Salt Bay were Pinkham (single), Brewer (two singles, hit by pitch), Thompson (single, walk), Olivia Ball (double, three RBI), Carr (walk), Starbird (single), Hannon (walk) and Robbins (walk). Most first names were not available. 

In the pitcher’s circle for Great Salt Bay, Ball recorded 12 strikeouts, 12 walks, one hit-by-pitch and four hits. 

On the flipside, for Medomak, Nicholls tallied 14 strikeouts, four walks, two hit-by-pitches, six hits in the pitcher’s circle.

In a Tuesday contest, Medomak bested Wiscasset. No final score was available.
