Medomak 8th softball swings past Oceanside in eight innings

THOMASTON — The Oceanside and Medomak eighth grade softball teams enjoyed a thrilling, high-scoring affair Saturday, May 21 in Thomaston. 

By the end of eight innings filled with a plethora of runs, Medomak found itself on the winning end of the 14-11 contest. 

Medomak scored four runs in the first inning, six in the fifth, one in the sixth and three in the eighth.

Entering the fifth inning, Oceanside had managed to plate four runs and collected seven more in the seventh inning. 

Arianna Sproul pitched the first two innings for Medomak and recorded four strikeouts, while Claudia Feeley pitched the remainder of the game and recorded eight strikeouts and five walks.

At the plate for Medomak were Peyton Eaton (single, walk), Kendall Simmons (two singles), Arianna Sproul (double, walk), Claudia Feeley (four singles, triple), Haylee Chandler (two singles), Cassidy Prock (three singles), Alyssa Smith (two singles), Chloe Fox (single) and Kehli Maxcy (single).
