LINCOLNVILLE — Jeanne “Chickey” Brusseau Roby, of Lincolnville, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, in 1932, the daughter of Frank and Edith (Smith) Brusseau. Jeanne graduated from Williams Business School and, in 1953, married Waldo N. Roby. The couple moved to Carver, Massachusetts, where Jeanne made her home for 34 years.

Jeanne worked for the Town of Carver for 34 years, eventually serving as Assistant Town Manager. In 2020, she moved to Maine to be closer to family.

A talented vocalist, Jeanne performed on both radio and television in Brockton. She sang with the Sweet Adelines and the Saints and Singers choral groups and enjoyed performing with professional entertainers and friends. Music was an important part of her life, and she played the piano, organ, and guitar, enjoying many different styles of music.

Jeanne cherished her family and the many friendships she made throughout her life. She spent extended periods of time in New Orleans, where she especially enjoyed the family, the music, and, of course, the beignets. She was surrounded by her family as she celebrated her 94th birthday.

She is survived by her daughters, Lee Ann Beaulieu of Lincolnville, Maine, and Janet Roby (Alex) Sanchez of Metairie, Louisiana; her sister, Nancy McEntee; grandchildren, Evan (Shelly) Bowers, Tobias (Jennifer) Ward, and Matthew Sanchez; great-grandchildren, Evan Bowers Jr., Alison Bowers, Alaina Ward, and Lucas Ward. She is also survived by her nephews, Peter and Greg McEntee; her soul sister, Connie Shaw; and many dear friends in Carver, including Melissa Mason and her family.

She was predeceased by her brother, Frank “Jimmy” Brusseau.

Jeanne was loved by many and will be remembered for her warmth, her love of music, her devotion to family, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
