Join the Belfast Free Library and the Wawenoc Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society on Wednesday, May 20, at 2 p.m., in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library, for a genealogy presentation on “Finding Your Revolutionary War Patriots.”

"As we enter the 250th Anniversary of our country, are you searching for your first Patriot ancestor?" said the Library, in a news release. "Or maybe you have more than one Patriot in your lineage (known as Supplementals)?

Learn how to find Patriots in your lineage, what types of records are needed to prove your Patriots’ service, and what else you need to join organizations such as the DAR and SAR (Daughters or Sons of the American Revolution).

The meeting's speaker will be Marcia Kinstler, DAR Penobscot Expedition Chapter Registrar and Wawenoc Chapter member.

The Wawenoc Chapter is the Belfast area’s chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society. It meets monthly on the third Wednesday at the Belfast Free Library. Genealogists of all abilities and skill-levels are encouraged to join.
