The Belfast Free Library invites youth to celebrate National Poetry Month. Waldo County children and teens are invited to write poems on the theme of “Where the Land Meets the Sea: Poems about Home, Saltwater and Soil.” 

Include author name, grade/age, school and contact information in the submission. To submit poems, or for more information, write to: sholman@belfastlibrary.org or stop by the 2nd floor of the library. 

Prizes will be awarded to winners and runners-up in different age categories.

The deadline date for poem submission is Wednesday, April 30.

A reception and reading (where all are invited to read their work) will be held Monday, May 4, from 4-5 p.m., in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library, 106 High Street, Belfast.
