Nancy Neville Angelos, obituary
UNION — Nancy Marie Neville Angelos, age 72, passed away on May 28, 2026, surrounded by love after a life defined by kindness, humor, and deep care for others.
She was born on March 6, 1954 in Irvington, New Jersey, to Marie Koechel Neville and James Neville, and grew up in Clark, New Jersey. Nancy went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from Southampton College, where she met the love of her life and best friend, Mark Angelos.
Nancy and Mark built a life together rooted in love, adventure, and family. They moved to Maine, first settling in Vinalhaven, where their daughter Megan was born at home. They later moved to Rockland, where they built their home and welcomed their son, David. Together, they ran a seafood business before Nancy was later inspired to pursue a career in nursing.
Nancy was a caregiver at heart. Her strength and devotion allowed her to care for Mark at home during his battle with ALS, and she remained by his side until his passing in 2008, after 30 years of marriage. Nancy’s care extended far beyond her profession; she devoted herself to her children, grandchildren, her mother, and all those she loved.
In 2018, Nancy moved into her dream home on Seven Tree Pond in Union, where she lived for the remainder of her life. There, she loved waking up to the lake each day, getting out on the water, visiting with friends, and was a regular at The Pour Farm. She found peace and joy daily in her life on the lake.
Nancy was known for her award-winning blueberry pie, her vibrant and youthful spirit, her humor, and her adventurous nature. She was always kind, always joyful, and her friends often said she would say “yes” before you even finished asking the question. She loved kayaking, fishing, traveling, hiking, scuba diving, live music, singing, gardening, rug hooking, and time with her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her mother, Marie; her father, James; and her husband, Mark.
She is survived by her daughter, Megan, and her children Marcus and Ezra; her son, David; her daughter-in-law, Ania, and their son, Milo; her brother, Jim; her sister-in-law, Joyce; and many cousins, both by blood and by marriage, as well as the many beautiful friendships she cherished throughout her life.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, at 11 a.m., at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 150 Broadway, in Rockland, followed by a celebration of life for close family and friends at her home on Seven Tree Pond in Union.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sussman House, where she passed.
