Lori A. Winchenbach, obituary
WALDOBORO — Lori A. Winchenbach, 72, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully at Maine Medical Center in Portland on July 13, 2026. Born in Damariscotta on November 18, 1953, Lori was the daughter of Henry Bradford Jackson and Dorothea Joan (Gee) Jackson. She grew up in Waldoboro, attended local schools, and graduated from Medomak Valley High School with the Class of 1972.
On August 18, 1973, Lori married the love of her life, Bruce Winchenbach, and together they built a life filled with love, hard work, and devotion to their family. Raising their three sons was among Lori's greatest joys, and she treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Lori was known for her strong work ethic and caring heart. She worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Fieldcrest Manor in Waldoboro and later as a traveling CNA, providing compassionate care to countless individuals. She also worked at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, where she cleaned guest rooms, and was employed at both Van Balen's and the Fish Factory in Rockland.
Above all else, Lori loved her family and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. She was also devoted to her beloved pets, who brought her great companionship throughout the years. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for those she loved and could often be found watching her favorite cooking shows, always picking up a new recipe or technique.
Lori will be remembered as a true spitfire—feisty, grounded, and full of determination. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room and was known for her generous heart and willingness to help others. Though she could be stubborn at times, it was always accompanied by a quiet, shy sweetness that endeared her to everyone who knew her. She was, above all, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed.
Lori was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Dorothea Jackson; her beloved husband, Bruce Winchenbach; her brother, Bradford Eric Jackson; and her sister Lillian Violet Siranda.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Bruce Alan Winchenbach and his companion Lauren, of Gunnison, Colorado, Robert Michael Winchenbach and his wife Amanda, of Troy, and Timothy Scot Winchenbach and his wif, Christy, of Washington; her cherished grandchildren, Julia Winchenbach, Nathan Winchenbach, Dakota Sprague and Alyie Sprague; her sisters Joan Perry of Warren and Kathie Demmons and her husband Les, of Waldoboro; her sister-in-law, Linda Grant of Warren; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
