Work by Mary Ann Heinzen. (Image courtesy Mary Ann Heinzen)"Watermarks," a selection of watercolors, created en plein air and in the studio, by artist Mary Ann Heinzen, will be on display from Friday, Aug. 7 to Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Granite Gallery, in St. George.

Works will include representational inland and coastal scenes, as well as semi abstract florals and collage.

An artist reception and watercolor demonstration on Sunday, Aug. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m.

"The demonstration will start with soaked paper, creating blending, juicy color, while maintaining important light areas," said Heinzen, in a news release. "As the paper dries, details and composition emerge. The final result will be representational but loose and painterly, taking advantage of the unique qualities of the watercolor medium."
