Vote for Shawn Saindon to represent Maine House District 44
I am writing in support of Shawn Saindon who is running for State Representative as an Independent to represent House District 44, serving the towns of Hope, Union, and Warren.
As a Warren resident, I came to know Shawn through his service on the Warren Planning Board, particularly during two issues that were important to me and critical to the future of our town.
When a large utility scale solar project came to Warren and the town had little authority to regulate it, Shawn led the committee that developed a comprehensive solar ordinance. He listened to residents, carefully studied the issues, and helped create protections for farmland, productive soils, natural resources, neighboring property owners, and the character of our community.
Shawn also helped shape Warren's mining ordinance and supported the moratorium that gave the town time to establish responsible local protections. He understands that communities should have the opportunity to fully consider the impacts of major development and establish thoughtful local rules before decisions with lasting consequences are made.
As a member of the Planning Board, Shawn learned that the best decisions begin by listening. Those experiences reflect the kind of representative he would be: someone who listens first, studies the facts, brings people together, and looks for practical solutions rather than relying on political talking points.
Shawn is running a truly independent campaign because he believes his first responsibility is to the people of Hope, Union, and Warren — not to a political party or special interest group.
I urge you to vote Shawn Saindon for State Representative on November 3.
