Event Date
Saturday, August 29, 2026 - 09:00 am to 06:00 pmCAMDEN and ROCKPORT — CamdenCAN will host the free Third Annual Camden-Rockport Food Garden Tour on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, with a rain date of Sunday, Aug. 30. The free community event invites residents and visitors to explore local food gardens, meet the people who tend them, and exchange practical ideas about growing food in Midcoast Maine.
"Camden and Rockport are home to a lively network of backyard gardeners, family farms, greenhouses, homesteads, and community growing spaces," said CamdenCAN, in a news release. "The Food Garden Tour celebrates that local knowledge by opening selected gardens to visitors throughout the day."
Tour hours will be divided into three sessions: 9 a.m.–noon, noon–3 p.m., and 3–6 p.m. Visitors may explore participating gardens, talk with hosts, ask questions, and gather ideas they can adapt to their own yards and growing spaces.
“You don’t need to be an experienced gardener to enjoy the tour,” said CamdenCAN, in a news release. “It’s designed for anyone who is curious about growing food—from people planting their first tomato to longtime gardeners looking for new ideas.”
The Camden-Rockport Food Garden Tour is free, but advance registration is requested. Registered visitors will receive the tour map and event information by email a week before the event.
