Austen Tyler Jackomino, obituary
THOMASTON — Austen Tyler Jackomino, born in Biloxi, Mississippi, on February 19, 1990, to Kimberly Kramer and Robert Jackomino, spent his childhood and teen years immersed in the coastal waters he loved so much, salt-water fishing and free-diving alongside friends, his mother, stepfather Kevin Kramer, and stepsisters. Summers during his youth were spent on Vinalhaven Island with his father and sister, Monica Krueger, where he discovered his lifelong passion for hauling—the local term for commercial lobster fishing.
Austen spent the majority of his young and adult life working in the stern, earning a reputation as a respected and formidable force on every boat he stepped onto. At age 24, he moved to Maine to fish alongside his father, a journey that led him to meet the love of his life, his wife, Ashli Jackomino. Together, they built a beautiful family, welcoming three children: their son Corban in 2015, and their daughters Palmer in 2019 and Islah in 2024.
A man of remarkable intellect and a vast wealth of knowledge, Austen delighted in sharing what he knew with everyone he encountered, especially his children. Whether he was teaching them about fishing, math, literature, geography, or instilling in them the importance of a genuine relationship with God, his dedication as a father was unrivaled. Austen possessed an unwavering faith and a deep, lifelong desire to study and understand the Bible. Guided by compassion, a fierce work ethic, and profound respect for others, he never hesitated to help anyone in need and faithfully shared the Good News of the Gospel with everyone he crossed paths with.
Austen is predeceased by his grandmother, Janet Dryden.
He is survived by his father, Robert Jackomino; his mother and stepfather, Kimberly and Kevin Kramer; his wife, Ashli Jackomino; and their three children, Corban, Palmer, and Islah Jackomino. He also leaves behind his sister, Monica Krueger; his stepsisters, Lindsay Pons and Katherine Redo; his nana, Glennis Lane; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
Austen's absence has left an unfillable void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him, but his spirit, faith, and fierce love will live on forever through his children and the memories shared by all who were blessed to cross his path.
