COTACACHI, Ecuador — Steven Donoso, 69, passed away at his home in Cotacachi, Ecuador, on 24 August, 2026. Steve was a graduate of College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, and taught at Waldorf schools in Freeport and Rockport, before spending a decade as a librarian at the Rockland Public Library.

Steve founded the International Film Festival of the Spirit in 2003, which aimed to showcase stories of hope and inspire people in the community.

Steve moved to the small rural town of Cotacachi, Ecuador in 2013 where he lived until his passing.
