WALDOBORO — The Medomak and Oceanside middle school girls soccer teams met in Waldoboro for a Busline League match Wednesday, Sept. 14.
The hosts earned a 3-1 victory in its first victory of the season.
Medomak grabbed a 1-0 lead three minutes into the contest when Summer Staples found the back of the net for the Riverhawks, a lead that the hosts would carry into the half.
The game was tied 1-1 when Lorelei Parent scored for Oceanside with 22 minutes off the clock in the second half.
Medomak reclaimed the lead when Grace Townsend scored four minutes later, which was extended when Anna Cheeseman made it a 3-1 contest two minutes later.
Arial Castner was in goal for Medomak and recorded three saves while Abby Stackpole of Oceanside tallied more than 15 saves.
