DAMARISCOTTA — The Medomak middle school girls soccer team traveled Friday, Sept. 16 to challenge Great Salt Bay in Damariscotta.

The Riverhawks returned home with a dominating 14-0 victory.

What a great fall day for soccer, the sun was warm, but the breeze was cooler making the girls not overheat. The leaves were falling and sun on their backs.

Medomak tallied its first goal just under five minutes into the contest when Ivy McCollette found the back of the net. The Riverhawks made it a 2-0 contest when Anna Cheesman scored off a McCollette assist three minutes later.

The lead was quickly extended to 3-0 two minutes later when Cheesman scored once more, and to 4-0 a minute thereafter when McCollette found the back of the net.

With the Riverhawks in a scoring groove, Brooke McNelly made it 5-0 one minute later off a Grace Townsend assist before Cali Readinger made it 6-0 a minute later courtesy a Rachel Barbour assist.

Barbour, five minutes later, made it a 7-0 affair before Lilly Hills gave Medomak an 8-0 advantage to carry into the halftime pause when she scored off a Jennika Schumann assist.

Three minutes into the second half, Kendall Wyman scored Medomak’s ninth tally of the game. Skylar Flint scored one minute later off a pass from Cheesman.

Ten minutes later, Olivia Campbell scored before Hannah Richards scored another 10 minutes later.

The final two scores for Medomak came three minutes later when Grace Havener scored and when Campbell scored with five minutes remaining in the contest.
