Knox County Democrats overwhelmingly endorse Graham Platner to be their U.S. Senate candidate

(Photo by Lynda Clancy)The most current notable national political race has landed in Maine, and Knox County Democrats are playing a large part in determining who will represent them in the Nov. 3 general elections for U.S. Senate.
Maine has two Senate seats: Angus King holds his six-year seat until the end of the 121st Congress on January 3, 2031. Susan Collins is up for reelection in November and she is the lone Republican on the June 9 Republican Party primary ticket. Those seeking her seat are: David Costello, Brunswick; Janet Mills suspended her campaign April 30 but her name remained on the June 9 primary ballot; Graham Platner, Sullivan; and Andrea LaFlamme, of Bangor, is a declared write-in whose name will not appear on the ballot but is registered with the state.
