Paid Parking News: Tuesday night, July 21, the Select Board voted 3 (Chris Nolan, Bobbi Oxton-Blake, Susan Dorr) to 2 (Ken Gross, Chrisso Rheault) to SUSPEND the Expanded Paid Parking program on the streets and public lots, except for the Public Landing.
The Public Landing remains a paid lot, as it has been for several years. Enforcement time remains Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, noon-8 p.m.
Camden residents with a permit CAN use their permits on the Public Landing, as a gesture of goodwill from the Select Board.
Displaying a sticker is not required to receive the benefits of the permit, as license plates are scanned, not stickers, to enforce two hour limits.
Parking enforcement is in effect on all public streets and public lots year-round, with two-hour limits unless otherwise noted by signs or markings on the street.
Those with a handicap placard or plate can park in any space, not just handicapped spaces, for twice the amount of time. And parking on the Public Landing is FREE for those with a handicap placard or plate, in any legal space, for twice the amount of time as well.
