Rockport Public Library welcomes children's author and illustrator Stephen Costanza for a dynamic, two-part youth workshop on Tuesday, July 28, at 1 p.m., centered around the newly illustrated book The Sole Man.

 

The event kicks off with a 15-minute multimedia slide presentation by Costanza where students will dive into the history, trivia, and artistic process behind the book, including a close-up look at a whimsical, complex machine.

 

Following the presentation, students will participate in a hands-on creative session titled "Gear Heads." Using watercolors, markers, and circular objects for tracing, children will design and paint their own interlocking gears.
