In anticipation of the Waldo County ticketed viewing of the Dunlap Broadside of the Declaration of Independence, August 13-15, the Belfast Free Library is hosting, “By Land or By Sea" on Wednesday, July 29, from 10 - 1 p.m., at Steamboat Landing and Boathouse, on the waterfront in Belfast.

"This will be a fun filled day of Revolutionary–era activities for all ages," said the Library, in a news release.

Timed events include "Belfast Flying Shoes" leading dance accompanied by "The Sea Strings" at 10 and again at 12:15.

The Schooner Charm arrives at 10:45 to moor nearby.

Firefly the Hybrid will sing and drum at 11:00.

At 11:30 DoryWoman Rowing will bring a copy of the Declaration of Independence to the shore.

At noon the Declaration of Independence will be read  from the stage.

Ongoing activities include a Colonial-era picnic to take to the lawn, Penobscot Marine Museum crafts, a chance to find your family's Revolutionary War patriots, working spinners and fiber artists on display, and engagement with Revolutionary-era reenactors representing historical people of Belfast Maine.
