Camden Hills baseball tops Oceanside

ROCKLAND — The varsity baseball teams from Camden Hills and Oceanside met on the diamond for a Wednesday, May 22 showdown in Rockland. 

The visiting Windjammers improved its record to 5-9 on the season courtesy an 8-1 victory over the host Mariners, who dropped to 4-10 with the loss. 

Camden Hills tallied one run in the second inning, two in the third, one in the fourth, three in the sixth and one in the seventh. 

Oceanside plated its lone run in the first inning, courtesy a Jonah Carlson RBI single. 

The Windjammers recorded 13 hits and committed three errors, while the Mariners had seven hits and five errors. 

Working the mound for Oceanside were Carlson (four innings), Uriah Thongsophaphone (two innings), Austin Pagano (one inning). 

Pitching for Camden Hills was Spencer Johndro, who tossed a complete game.  

Repeat hitters for Camden Hills included Quinn Brown (two singles, two runs), Nate Johnson (single, double, two runs), Matt Kremin (two singles, two RBIs), Spencer Johndron (three singles, run, RBI), Jason Greenleaf (two singles, two runs). 

Up next for Camden Hills will be a road trip against Medomak Valley on Friday, May 24 at 4 p.m.

Up next for Oceanside will be a road contest against Lincoln Academy on Friday, May 24 at 4 p.m.
