With Monday win, Oceanside baseball records 100th win in program history
WINSLOW — The Oceanside varsity baseball team hit the road Monday, May 23 to challenge Winslow, and earned its 100th win in program history in the process.
The visiting Mariners boosted its record to 5-8 on the season with the 11-1 victory that saw Oceanside plate two runs in the first inning, one in the third, three in the fifth and five in the sixth.
Winslow scored its lone run of the contest in the fourth inning.
The hosts recorded three hits, committed three errors and left five runners on base. Oceanside, meanwhile, tallied 13 hits, one error and 11 stranded runners.
Duncan Oakes-Nelsen tossed a complete game for Oceanside, allowing one earned run, three hits, three walks and collecting five strikeouts.
Working the mound for Winslow were Lucas Boucher (4.2 innings, six runs, five earned runs, nine hits, two strikeouts, two walks, one hit-by-pitch), Adrain Poulin (0.2 innings, five runs, four earned runs, three hits, three walks) and Kevin Loubier (0.2 innings, one hit, one walk).
Notable hitters for Oceanside were Jacob Watkinson (three singles), Alex Bartlett (single, double), Oakes-Nelsen (single, double), Gavin Ripley (single, double) and Kavanaugh Maloney (double).
Dan Doughty recorded a double as Winslow’s notable hitter.
