ROCKLAND — The Oceanside and Belfast varsity baseball programs met Friday, May 27 in Rockland for a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference game.
Both teams racked up hits and runs but in the end the visiting Lions earned the win by a score of 6-4.
Belfast plated one run in the first inning, three in the fifth and two in the seventh while Oceanside tallied one in the third and three in the fourth.
Oceanside collected 10 hits, committed four errors and stranded nine runners on base while Belfast recorded seven hits, committed one error and abandoned five on base.
Curtis Littlefield tossed a complete game for Belfast and allowed four runs, one earned run, 10 hits, two strikeouts and three walkts.
Working the mound for Oceanside were Connor Calderwood (four innings, one run, two hits, seven strikeouts), Jacob Watkinson (two innings, five runs, four earned runs, five hits, one strikeout) and Duncan Oakes-Nelsen (one inning, one strikeout, one hit-by-pitch).
