Camden Hills baseball swings past Oceanside

ROCKLAND — The Oceanside and Camden Hills baseball squads faced off Monday, May 10 for the third time this season. 

In Rockland, the visiting Windjammers boosted its record to 7-1 with a 14-4 victory over the host Mariners (2-6). 

Camden Hills plated four runs in the third inning, two in the fourth and four each in the fifth and sixth frames. The guests recorded nine hits, committed one error and stranded seven runners on base. 

Oceanside, meanwhile, tallied a run in each of the first two innings plus two more in the fifth. The hosts recorded five hits, committed four errors and abandoned five runners on base. 

Repeat hitters for Camden Hills were Matt Kremin (single, home run, five RBI) and Aiden Schecter (two singles). Hunter Norton and Obie Miller each notched a double, while Sam Moody tallied a home run. 

There were no repeat or notable at-bats reported for Oceanside. 

Hunter Bell and Logan Putansu worked the pitcher’s mound for Camden Hills while Nathan Coombs, Will Eaton, Nathaniel Barnard, Connor Calderwood and Bowen Brann pitched for Oceanside. 

Oceanside’s next contest will be Wednesday, May 12 on the road at 4 p.m. against Belfast. 

Camden Hills will take to the diamond again Wednesday, May 12 on the road at 4:30 p.m. against Lincoln Academy.
