Belfast Maskers to hold auditions for two upcoming productions

Saturday, March 28, 2026 - 02:30 pm to 04:30 pmBelfast Maskers will hold auditions later this month for two upcoming productions: the Maine Playwrights One Act Festival and the summer musical “Pippin.” Auditions for both productions will take place the same weekend, though each show will hold separate audition sessions.
Auditions for the Maine Playwrights One Act Festival will be held Saturday, March 28 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Monday, March 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. Performances will run from June 4–14.
The festival highlights original work by Maine playwrights and will feature four one-act plays directed by Maci Burgess, Gwen Sauvage, Tyler Johnstone, and Ivy Lobato: “on astral projection & troubleshooting for the stars,” by Keaton Harper of Limerick; “Dust,” by Belfast playwright Eddie Adelman; “Kitchen Knife,” by Angelina Nichols of Stockton Springs; and “Miss Le Gallienne Announces the New Season,” by Carolyn Gage of Southwest Harbor.
Auditions for “Pippin” will be held Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Tuesday, March 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. Performances are scheduled for July 30 through August 9. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Roger O. Hirson, “Pippin” follows a young prince searching for meaning and fulfillment as he explores glory on the battlefield, the temptations of romance, and the complexities of political power. The Belfast Maskers production will be directed by Erik Perkins with music direction by David Delano.
