Coastal Senior College Begins a Series of Fall Walks
In addition to the opportunity to enroll in a variety of classes each term, Coastal Senior College members may participate in free Activities, one of which is the series of Fall Walks. The first Fall Walk will take place on Wednesday, September 9, from 9:30 am to 1 pm, at the National Audubon Society’s Hog Island Camp in Bremen, on Muscongus Bay.
Participants will be transported over to the Island and guided by Audubon’s Seabird Institute staff. Hog Island Audubon Camp has been bringing programs to birders, educators, and nature enthusiasts for more than 80 years. Now is our opportunity to walk, learn, and picnic there.
Two other Fall Walks are scheduled on Monday, September 28, at the Merryspring Nature Center in Camden in conjunction with CSC’s annual Homecoming Picnic, and on Monday, October 19, at the Langlais Art Preserve in Cushing.
Participation in the Fall Walk series is open to members of Coastal Senior College free of charge, but registration is required. A non-refundable fee of $10 must be paid at the time of registration to cover the short boat ride to Hog Island for the first Fall Walk. Registrants receive directions to the meeting place and detailed information about what to expect and what to bring.
