Winter Adventure Series explores scallop farming with Andrew Peters, March 18
BELFAST — Come Boating and the Belfast Free Library's Winter Adventure Series continues Tuesday, March 18, at 6:30 p.m., with presentation about Scallop Farming in the Penobscot Bay with Andrew Peters.

Andrew Peters started Vertical Bay Scallops in 2018 as a model for scallop farming in Maine. In this presentation Peters will discuss how the scallops are grown in the nutrient rich waters of the Penobscot Bay, the “ear-hanging” method of farming, how they have benefitted from the work of research institutions, and the challenges and opportunities scallop farming presents.
