Todd N. Greeley, obituary
MORRILL — Todd N. Greeley, 48, was translated from this life to the next on September 6, 2025. Born on October 16, 1976, he was the son of Edwin H. and Susan (Nelson) Greeley. He lived his entire life in the town of Morrill, except for four years of college in South Carolina.
Todd became well-known in his youth as a busy, resourceful, hard-working boy who developed a quick wit of saying one-lined assessments of what was happening around him. His pithy statements were entertaining and amusing to those who were within hearing range. He soon became a master of such statements that lightened everyone’s spirits in a split second.
A 1995 graduate of Belfast Area High School, Todd had enrolled in a college prep program there and also played, football, basketball, baseball, and ran track. In 1999, Todd graduated from Bob Jones University with a degree in Business Management, and met the love of his life, Anna Baker. They married in 2000 and welcomed their first born, a son named Zachary, one year later. Eleven years later, they completed their family with the birth of a daughter, Lorna. As a family, they modeled for all what a godly, loving family looks like.
Todd worked for MBNA in Camden and Belfast, and always appreciated the work ethic of the company. He was a devoted employee and was respected and liked by those with whom he worked. When it was time to seek other employment, he went to work for the U.S. Government where he worked until the time of his death. Even as he battled cancer and many chemo treatments, surgeries, and dealt with side effects, he received an outstanding evaluation last year for his tireless efforts. Todd did not want to let people down, and he didn’t.
Todd was civic-minded and served as a volunteer fireman for 21 years with the Morrill Fire Department. He also served as the Morrill EMA Director for 8 years. In addition, he mowed in the town’s cemeteries and, with the help of his wife, planted and tended the gardens at the Veteran’s Memorial Park and the Smith House from his youth right up until just before his death. He also served on the Morrill Planning Board and was a former chairman.
Todd’s highest priority was to his Savior, whom he served in many responsible ways. He was a member of Veracity Chapel, formerly Morrill Baptist Church, where he served as an Elder, assistant Sunday school teacher, co-chaired the Christian Education Team, organized Sunday morning preparations (an unofficial job to assist church leadership), and janitor of the church gym. Todd and Anna both, planted, and tended the beautiful gardens that garner attention all summer long that grave the Chapel grounds. Todd and his son participated in a 10-day trip to Romania in 2016 to meet the pastor of a sister church to Veracity Chapel. It was a life changing experience for both he and his son.
Surviving is his wife, Anna; son, Zachary and his wife Sarah; daughter, Lorna; his parents, Edwin and Susan (Nelson) Greeley, of Morrill; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Deb Baker of Brewer. He will also be missed by his devoted brother, James Greeley and his wife Katie of Searsmont, their four children, Ethan, Aidan, Jacob, and Abby.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Eldridge and Jeanette Greeley and the Rev. Foster Nelson and his wife Evelyn.
A time of gathering and life celebration will be held Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 2 p.m., at the Simmons and Daughters Farm & Sugar House, 261 Weymouth Road, Morrill.
In honor of Todd’s life, memorial gifts may be made to the Philippian Fellowship, P.O. Box 213, Bremen, ME 04551 to help support the work of Bereca Orphanage, Pro Vitae Life, and Efrata Church in Lugos, Romania.
