Watts Hall Community Players adopt 'Annie' as summer musical
Event Date
Friday, March 20, 2026 - 05:00 pmWatts Hall Community Players will be putting on the well-loved musical “Annie” (inspired by the 1924 comic strip Little Orphan Annie) early this summer.
"They’re excited to produce a show that invites such a wide range of participants to join on stage and behind the scenes," said Board Chair Lisa Millette, in a Community Players news release.
Audition schedule is as follows:
Watts Hall itself has been a gathering and performance space for Thomaston and neighboring towns since the turn of the 20th century and is currently undergoing renovations slated to be complete near the end of March. “Annie” will be the first full-length show to be produced by WHCP in the newly renovated space. In addition, it will also be their first musical to utilize an updated audio system, thanks to a recent grant from Maine Community Foundation’s Theater Fund.
“Annie has been on our list to produce for several years,” said Millette. “This year everything lined up and the players are delighted to have Lois and Sean back in directorial roles. I’ve been reaching out to all my friends with kids to share the news.”
The show will go up the last week in June and first week of July.
