Strongly recommend Chris Nolan and Bobbi Oxton for Camden Select Board
Wow! Can you say , "reset?" After attending the candidates' meeting for Camden Select Board, I strongly recommend Chris Nolan and Bobbi Oxton.
Both of them left no doubt that the Camden citizen voice on town issues will be welcome and considered. While Nolan, as an incumbent, was well-informed, I was particularly impressed with how well-versed newcomer Oxton was on matters that will impact town administration.
On questions regarding police organization, paid parking, and reception of citizen petitions, both candidates were boldly eloquent in their emphasis upon the need to take greater consideration of public input. Finally, I thought that their commitment to more open government was underscored by their mutual wish to return to the in-person town meeting — the hallmark of small-town, New England citizen governance.
And, while I'm at it — kudos to Lynda Clancy and the PenBay Pilot for hosting the candidates' meeting. There is no better way to guide one's vote than to meet the candidates in person.
