Note, I am a member of the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance, and truly find the membership valuable for the following reasons.  No compensation of any kind is being received for this post.

The Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance (MWPA) should bepart of your marketing goals. They distribute two email newsletters to help writers, readers, and literary professionals connect, stay informed, and promote their work.

The Peavey: The MWPA's weekly Thursday morning newsletter for members. It features local and national literary news, upcoming event listings, and MWPA announcements. Members can promote free Maine-based literary events and share their latest news (such as awards or fellowships).

[Note, this is where you can submit your upcoming book signing and events and also find out the venues where other writers are speaking. This is a great resource to hone your niche by observing where other writers in your genre are presenting.]

Ex Libris Maine: A bi-monthly e-newsletter sent out twice a month (the second and last Mondays) to a wide audience of readers, librarians, booksellers, and media contacts. It exclusively spotlights newly released books by MWPA members. Individual members can submit their recently published books (within the current or previous two months) for a free feature.

[Note, this is an invaluable part of your book launch! Their newsletters reach approximately 8,000 subscribers. Additionally, the alliance connects with an active membership base of over 1,700 members.]
