Strand Theatre announces 2026-27 season of 'The Met: Live in HD'

ROCKLAND — The Strand Theatre announces the 2026-27 season of The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera’s award-winning series of live high-definition cinema simulcasts from New York City.
The Met will present a special addition to the 2026–27 Live in HD lineup: Twenty Years of the Met in Cinemas: An Anniversary Celebration, hosted by soprano Renée Fleming. The show will feature highlights from the company’s collection of more than 185 onscreen performances, including unforgettable moments from opera’s greatest stars, such as Lise Davidsen, Joyce DiDonato, Elīna Garanča, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Jonas Kaufmann, Peter Mattei, Sondra Radvanovsky, and Nadine Sierra, among others, according to a Strand Theatre news release.
This season will feature eight live Met performances transmitted to movie theaters and other venues across the globe, beginning with Mozart’s Così fan tutte (October 3, 2026) and continuing with Verdi’s Macbeth (October 17, 2026), Saint-Saëns’s Samson et Dalila (December 5, 2026), Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West (January 23, 2027), Kevin Puts’s Silent Night (March 20, 2027), Massenet’s Manon April 3, 2027), Verdi’s Otello (April 24, 2027), and Wagner’s Parsifal (June 5, 2027).
Additionally, the Strand’s season features Special Encore presentations of Bizet’s beloved Carmen (November 1, 2026) and for the winter holidays, the English-language version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute (December 23, 2026)

The Met: Live in HD series has increased accessibility to Met Opera performances for audiences around the world. Met artists serve as hosts for the Live in HD series, providing background on the operas, introducing exciting behind-the-scenes features, and conducting live interviews with stars, crew, and production teams.

Tickets for the live broadcasts and Special Encores are $32/Adults, $27/Strand Members, and $15/Students. Tickets for encore presentations are $27/Adults, $22/Strand Members, and $10/Students. Reserved seats are offered for the live transmissions. Encore screenings will follow the Saturday simulcasts.
