Rockport Police investigating fatal fall from Goose River Bridge
ROCKPORT - Rockport Police are investigating an incident of an individual falling from the Goose River Bridge who died at the scene on Thursday, July 2, at approximately 6:10 p.m., according to Rockport Interim Police Chief James Greeley.
The bridge connects Pascal Avenue to Main Street in downtown Rockport.
Greeley issued the following statement Thursday evening:
“The Rockport Police Department responded today to the area of Main Street and Pascal Avenue following reports of an individual who had fallen from the bridge. Officers along with fire and EMS personnel responded immediately. Despite lifesaving efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The incident remains under investigation by the Rockport Police Department.”
