Rockland to host 2nd annual Food and Pollinator Garden Tour
Event Date
Saturday, August 15, 2026 - 10:00 am to 03:00 pmAll are invited to check out what’s growing in more than 10 food and pollinator gardens around Rockland.
"From edible landscapes to pollinator-friendly plots, the Rockland Food + Pollinator Garden Tour will highlight a wide range of approaches to growing food and supporting biodiversity, even in small or unconventional spaces," said the City, in a news release.
This year, the tour includes two segments. Rockland Food + Pollinator Garden Tour participants are welcome to attend either or both tour segments, and are asked to please register to attend in advance.
-From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the first segment will be a self-guided tour of public and backyard gardens throughout Rockland. Garden tour hosts will be on-site to welcome visitors, answer questions, and share their experience—whether it's building raised beds, planting for pollinators, or managing a mixed-use garden.
-At 2 p.m., Swell Farm will host a guided tour of their farm: a small family farm that grows cut flowers on just over an acre of farmland.
The tour is organized by the Rockland Energy and Sustainability Advisory Committee with support from the City of Rockland. Registration is now open online. For more information and to register, visit www.rocklandmaine.gov/gardentour.
